Working day for the members of the Ytterby Gruvas Association

On Sunday, November 13, a work day is organized for the members of the Ytterby Mining Association.
The fine mining area is growing again in front of the rock wall, so we need to meet, as many as possible, and help each other to cut bushes, haul away and burn. We will arrange some pleasantries as well, in connection with the work. We hope that many can and want to join!

The goals are:

  • To do a proper sly clearing up on the mountain and at the warp heaps
  • To fire up the rice so that we can in the future entertain with small clearings.

This is what the organization looks like:

  • Collection at 10.00 up at the mining bailiff’s cabin
  • Division into smaller work teams, with tasks to cut the husk, load onto trailers, transport to the places where it is possible to fire and burn the rice.

Volunteer supervisors for the various work teams are available. The work is estimated to be finished at approx. 13.00, and then the sausage grilling takes place down by the oil quay, i.e. below Fältspatsvägen.
After the lunch break, at 1:30 p.m., Sven-Olof and Tommy offer to tell the story of “Ytterby mine and the Cold War” again for those who have not had the opportunity to hear the story before. You can listen to them in the Transformer room. At the same time, those who have not seen the mine passage all the way to the old mine are given the opportunity to come along to a viewing.

Note! To join this tour you must be at least 13 years old and have boots on your feet – it is quite wet here and there.
